These are the images that have been edited for the front cover, contents page and the double page spread.

I cropped the image so that the model was taking up one third on the right hand side of the front page. I have done this as I think that the composition of the image is important. I was also thinking about how I could place my title, quotes and shapes on the page. Once the composition had been decided I started to edit the background of the image. I used the front cover research to help me place my model to the right of the cover. I have used Photoshop to select the background and change the brightness to make the background seem whiter as I think that this helps to brighten up the image. I think that the image looks better with the whiter background as the original image background looks a bit discoloured.
I also edited the model by using the healing tool and sharpen tool on the eyes to make them seem more prominent in the image. I think it is important when looking at the model as the eyes can show the mood of the image and the eye contact is used to help attract the audience to the magazine cover.
I have changed the saturation on the tape as I wanted this prop to stand out to the audience. I decided to use this prop as it quickly shows the audience that the magazine is about music without them needing to read the title or articles. To add emphases to the tape I have created a small sticker which reads Millie’s Mixtape#1. I think that this makes the image more personal and could make the audience want to read on about why she has her own tape and what it means to her.
I have added in more colour and shapes to improve my magazine front cover. I think that this again makes the magazines colour scheme really stand out to the viewers. To help me I looked back at my research and decided on using a bar shape to emphasize the main feature of the magazine.

These are some of the steps that I did to edit my images for the magazine.
To create images for my contents page I again choose to use the model to bring the attention back to the main feature in the magazine. I decided to look at my research and use parts to help influence my choice of layout for the contents page. From here I developed my ideas to produce a chart list, an exclusives box, a plus box and a box at the bottom of the page to show the online links as a lot of magazines are now accessible online and by using social apps too.
I then started to choose the three images that showed a small link with the size and with some similar poses of the model. I decided to then edit them to get the same background colour and to make the eyes sharper again to stand out to the audience to grab their attention through the models eye contact.
I have also used the selection tool to brighten the models appearance so that they would stand out from the background. I think that this helps to show the different artists involved in my magazine.
I like all of these images together as I think that they complement each other and they create a rock feel as the model looks rebellious and also serious in the images. I think that the images show the rock genre as the electric guitar is used in a lot of rock music and also the rock sign has been incorporated in one of the images. I think by using hands and hand signs it shows that they are sharp and rebellious characters, which I think really helps to show off the rock look.
With getting feedback I have changed the three images so that the magazine doesn't focus too heavily on one artist, instead I have added in two images of a different artist and a guitar from another shoot. I think that this advice has helped me to improve my product and also make it link closer to the research I did at the start of the project. The feedback allowed me to look back at my research and by doing this I decided to move the title of the page into the center as this is where most of the magazines placed their contents title.

This is the image that I have used and developed for the double page spread. I have chosen this image because I found it better to be able to talk about what he casette means to her. I think by doing this I am linking both the article and the image together.
I have edited this image by firstly cropping it down so that the composition was clearer and that the image was aligned for the double page. I then stated to look closely at the small details of the image.
I used the healing tool on the amp as in the corner parts of paint had started to peel off so that the silver was visible. I thought that this could distract the eyes away also I decided to correct this by trying the fill tool but then using the healing tool as I think that it worked better.
I also selected the tops of the 4 dials on top of the amp to make them look new I increased the brightness so that they looked silver and brand new. I also decided to select and brighten the white box shape on the amp to make this part also look better.
I worked on improving the small details of the surrounding of the model to make sure there wasn't any paint peeling away that could distract the eyes. I also filled in the flooring to remove a black line next to where the model was sitting.
I worked then on the model to remove any lines that seems out of place such as a small thread on the sleeve of her arm.
I think that this image works well as the model looks directly into the camera to gain eye contact with the readers which can also capture their attention. I think that the image also tells the audience that the article is about music or is taken from a music magazine simply from the use of the props involving a cassette and an amp in the photograph. Next to the image is the final double page spread with the article and image.
I tried the black and white effect on this image but decided not to use it as I think that image looks dark and is not as eye catching as the photo in colour.
For the other page of my magazine I wanted to stick with the red, black, grey and white colour scheme in order to show consistency throughout my media product. To do this I decided to involve some shapes that would realty to the music side of the magazine, so I used different coloured musical notes which I edited using Photoshop. I think that by adding these to the page it helps to fill in a blank space which makes the page also look more interesting to the audience. I added in the cassette tape to add in a subject which the interview then goes on to explain why the prop is used.
